As Nigeria celebrated Democracy Day on June 12, Prince Charles Olumuyiwa Babalola, a prominent figure from Okeagbe Akoko, paid tribute to the late Chief Moshood Abiola, hailing him as a hero of Nigerian democracy. The day, which marks the anniversary of the historic June 12, 1993, presidential election, was observed nationwide with reverence and reflection.

In a heartfelt address, Prince Babalola remembered Chief Abiola’s sacrifice in the struggle against military rule and his untimely death, which sparked nationwide protests and became a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s journey towards democratic governance.
