The Executive Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, Hon. Esan Owolabi, has inaugurated a new set of appointees into his cabinet, including Comrade Tope Fagbemi, who was named Special Adviser on Youth and Community Engagement.

Comrade Fagbemi, a seasoned grassroots mobilizer and community advocate from Oge in Okeagbe-Akoko, has long distinguished himself in Ondo State’s political landscape through his active involvement in political organization and youth empowerment.
Beginning his political journey in 2012 as an active member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Oyin/Oge Ward 4, Fagbemi has played a pivotal role in advancing progressive politics within his community and beyond.

His notable contributions include participation in the 2014 party registration exercise in Ondo North Senatorial District and his service on the 2020 campaign council for Hon. Elder Ayodele Akande’s chairmanship bid.
Fagbemi’s influence also extended to national politics. He served as the Local Government Coordinator for the Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group (MBO) in 2015, later rising to become the Acting State Coordinator in 2021. In 2023, he further cemented his reputation as a political strategist when he coordinated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Citizen Orientation Movement (PBATCOM) in Ondo State.An alumnus of Okeagbe High School and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Fagbemi holds both National and Higher National Diplomas in Marketing, along with an Advanced Certificate in Customer Service. His appointment is seen by many as a recognition of his long-standing commitment to community service and political development in Akoko land.
Other newly appointed officials include Hon. Oluremi Babalola (Supervisor for Education), Imoru Opeyemi Bukola (Supervisor for Health), Adeleye Idowu (Special Adviser on Security), Hon. Sola Abiola (Supervisor for Agriculture), Hon. OWOLABI Oguntuyi ( Supervisor for works), and Hon. Eye Grace Mojirade ( Special adviser on humanitarian and women affairs).
In his address during the inauguration ceremony, Hon. Esan Owolabi congratulated the appointees and expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his continued support and leadership.

“You have been entrusted with the hopes and aspirations of our people. This role requires dedication, integrity, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact,” Owolabi charged.
“As you take on your new responsibilities, embrace transparency, collaboration, and accountability. Listen to the people you serve, engage with them, and let their feedback guide your actions,” he added.
The chairman also emphasized teamwork and unity of purpose, urging the new officials to work closely with one another and across departments to deliver sustainable solutions for the benefit of all residents of Akoko North West.

The event attracted notable personalities including Hon. Bode Awe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Mobilization; Hon. Fatai Atere, Leader of the Council; Hon. Jamiu Jimoh, political leaders, staff of the local government, and well-wishers of the appointees.
With the appointments, stakeholders expressed optimism that the new team will strengthen governance, deepen community engagement, and advance the development agenda of Akoko North West Local Government.
