Hon. Temitope Fagbemi, Special Adviser on Youth and Community Engagement to the Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Akoko North West Constituency I seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fagbemi, a longstanding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made his declaration during an exclusive interview with Radiant Africa Media, where he outlined his political vision and sought the support of party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency.

“I hereby seek the support of all party leaders and stakeholders across Akoko North West for the realization of my aspiration to serve as a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly in 2027,” he said. “I remain a committed and loyal member of the progressive family, with a long-standing history of dedication to the party.”

Reaffirming his loyalty, Fagbemi noted that he has endured political opposition and personal sacrifices in the course of his journey but remains steadfast in his commitment to the APC and its ideals.

If elected, he pledged to prioritize agriculture, youth empowerment, self-employment initiatives, education, and the establishment of a youth development centre within the constituency. According to him, these focus areas are critical to driving sustainable growth and improving the living standards of residents.

Fagbemi’s political career dates back to 2012 when he joined the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as an active member in Oyin/Oge Ward 4, Okeagbe Akoko. Over the years, he has played significant roles in party activities, including the 2014 voter registration exercise in the Ondo North Senatorial District and participation in the 2020 campaign structures for local and state elections.

At the national level, he served as Local Government Coordinator for the Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group (MBO) during the 2015 presidential campaign and later rose to become Acting State Coordinator following the demise of the late Chief Adewale Omojuwa. His involvement in grassroots mobilization has earned him recognition as a dedicated political strategist within party circles.

An indigene of Okeagbe Akoko, Fagbemi holds a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, alongside an advanced certificate in customer service. He also attended Okeagbe High School.

Described by supporters as a grassroots mobilizer and progressive advocate, Fagbemi says his aspiration is driven by a desire to deepen youth participation in governance and accelerate community development across Akoko North West Constituency I.

With his formal declaration, political activities in the constituency are expected to intensify as stakeholders begin early consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.
