OKEOWO TO COMMENCE NEXT PHASE OF RENEWED HOPE PALLIATIVES & OKEMONEY SUPPORT PROGRAMME TOMORROW

The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, PhD, has announced the commencement of the next phase of the Renewed Hope Palliatives and Okemoney Support Programme scheduled to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, 12th May 2026.
The initiative, which is being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is designed to provide direct economic relief, food support, and empowerment opportunities to residents of Ifelodun LCDA, particularly vulnerable groups and small-scale entrepreneurs within the community.
According to the Council Chairman, the programme reflects the administration’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of the people through inclusive governance and people-oriented initiatives aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship.
Under the programme, selected petty traders across the council area will benefit from the Okemoney Business Support Scheme, where beneficiaries will receive financial support to strengthen and expand their businesses. In addition, unemployed youths captured under the OkeYouth initiative will begin receiving monthly support designed to encourage productivity, self-development, and economic inclusion.
The administration will also extend support to elderly residents through the OkeAged scheme, which is specifically structured to assist senior citizens and provide relief for aged members of the community who require additional social support.
Furthermore, over 2,500 food palliative packages will be distributed to carefully selected beneficiaries across various wards in the LCDA as part of efforts to ensure food security and improve living conditions for residents.
Mayor Okeowo emphasized that beneficiaries under the Okemoney, OkeYouth, and OkeAged categories will begin to receive their financial support from tomorrow, while the distribution of food palliatives will also commence simultaneously at designated centres within the council area.
He reiterated that the Renewed Hope Palliatives and Support Programme is a reflection of the administration’s promise to always prioritize the welfare, empowerment, and socio-economic advancement of the people of Ifelodun LCDA.
The Chairman further assured residents that his administration remains committed to sustaining impactful programmes that directly touch lives and promote community development.
“We will always do more and better,” the Chairman stated.
