The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has named Hajia Bola Muse, Group Managing Director of Bomarah Group, as its Iconic Woman of the Month for August.
The recognition celebrates Hajia Muse’s exemplary leadership in the maritime and logistics sectors, as well as her sustained humanitarian interventions focused on uplifting vulnerable and marginalised communities across Nigeria.
Through her philanthropic organisation, the Bomarah Foundation, Hajia Muse has championed grassroots empowerment initiatives supporting widows and underserved communities with financial grants, business start-up kits, food items and sustainable livelihood opportunities aimed at reducing poverty and promoting self-reliance.
The Foundation also provides welfare packages, legal support and rehabilitation programmes for inmates and ex-offenders, while scholarships are awarded to students and youths. Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) have equally benefited from mobility aids and targeted empowerment programmes designed to promote inclusion and financial independence.
Speaking on the recognition, NAWOJ Lagos Chairperson, Jumoke Falayi-Johnson, commended Hajia Muse for combining corporate success with meaningful social responsibility.
