NUJ LAGOS COUNCIL SWEARS IN NEW EXECUTIVES OF POWERFUL PEN MEDIA CHAPEL

On August 27, 2024, The Powerful Pen Media Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalist Lagos State Chapter, got its new Executives. The Election which was supervised by the officials and executives of the Nigerian Union of Journalist was held at the Secretariat of the Maritime Journalist Association of Nigeria( MAJAN),and was led by the Chairman of NUJ , Mr Adeleye Ajayi, Mr Tunde Olalere the Secretary and Princess Alaba Igbaraola, the Chairperson of Photojournalist Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter . Before the Executives were sworn in, a minute silence was observed for Mr Raymond Ugochukwu ,the late former President of MAJAN.The New Executives elected are: Udeme Clement , as Chairman of the Chapel, who was also returned for second tenure, Asuquo Nuwak returned as Vice Chairman, Silas Onuoha as Secretary, Frank Odinukaeze as Assistant Secretary, Love Ikuku Oyedokun as Treasurer, Ranmilowo Ojalumo as Internal Auditor and Okezie Success as financial Secretary.Mr Adeleye Ajayi the NUJ chairman described Powerful Pen CHAPEL as an “Outstanding Chapel amongst others due to its Commitment of annual dues”. He encouraged the new officials to do their best in line with laid down rules and advised them to organize a Press week on behalf of the Chapel. Ajayi also advised all members of the chapel not to miss the monthly Congress at the NUJ Council, as there will always be lots of benefits attached for committed members.Mr Jerry Aguigbo, President of Maritime Journalist Association of Nigeria ( MAJAN) who also serves as the Parent body of Powerful Pen CHAPEL, thanked the NUJ officials for Supervising the Election and promised that the Chapel will continue to uphold the highest standard and Professionalism.The re- elected Chairman of the Chapel, Udeme Clement on behalf of all the elected officials of the chapel thanked the NUJ Executives and promised that the new executives are equal to the task in discharging duties.
